The Wairarapa Garden Tour relies on a great crew of volunteers to ensure a safe, fun and successful experience for our garden tourers. It’s a wonderful opportunity to contribute to the event.
Volunteers help with ticket checking, parking, and health and safety – all roles are based outside. A volunteer shift is four hours.
There are three simple steps:
Step 1. Download the Volunteer Code of Conduct and read it closely.
Step 2. Complete the online registration form.
Note: some questions are optional – these help us build a clearer picture of our volunteer audience.
Step 3. Wait for an email response to let you know your assigned volunteer shift and garden.
[If you have volunteered for the Wairarapa Garden Tour in previous years, we start afresh each year. Please renew your volunteer registration. This is for health & safety purposes and to sure all contact details are current]
A face-to-face volunteer briefing will be held on:
3.00pm, Sat 21 October 2023
at the Wānanga at Pūkaha Wildlife Centre
open in Google Maps
Covid-19 Contact tracing, hand sanitiser and masks will be available on entry to each garden.
Alert Level conditions (on the day) will apply. Please familiarise yourself with these measures to protect yourself and others from Covid-19.
Each garden has a ‘volunteer care box’ that includes essentials: sunblock, water, pens, notebooks, first aid kits to ensure you have all you need to keep tour-goers safe and comfy during your volunteer shift.
Any updated information for volunteers will be posted to this page.
