Jenny’s Garden
Jenny’s Garden stands as a living tribute to the late Jenny, whose deep love of plants and landscape endures in every leaf and bloom.
Over the past 21 years, this former paddock, sheltered by the historic Garland Bush Reserve, has been thoughtfully transformed into a serene, green sanctuary that offers refuge and delight to both people and wildlife.
The 3,000-square-metre property blends formality with a relaxed, natural approach. While the layout follows a structured design, the surrounding vegetation, flowing stream, and integration of native species soften and enrich the garden’s character.
Spring visitors will explore and enjoy its serene beauty, and will find snowdrops (Galanthus), varied flowering trees and shrubs. A small potager garden is a favourite spot for many visitors, and Clivia plants will be available for sale on the day.
Towering exotic trees such as English oaks, plane trees, and a rare and ancient olive tree offer structure and grandeur. Particularly notable are several large specimens of Sino Calycanthus, a plant now facing extinction in its native China.
The garden philosophy is one of balance, minimal spraying, the use of natural leaf mulch, and encouraging self-sown seedlings. There’s a special harmony between house and garden; the home, designed by Max Edridge and crafted from stone and slate, complements and anchors the landscape beautifully.
Whether you’re drawn by rare plants, architectural harmony, or simply the quiet joy of a green refuge, Jenny’s Garden offers something heartfelt and memorable.
